Royal forest "Het Loo" near Apeldoorn, a real hot spot for epiphytic lichens. This paper deals with a very rich area for epiphytic lichens in the Netherlands: the royal forest Het Loo near Apeldoorn. Some 150 lichen species are reported, the majority of these species are present in a small part of 18 hectares known as Het Oude Loo. Five lichen species have their single occurrence in the Netherlands in this small area. Beech trees of a maze are covered with rare species. Twenty-six Red Listed species are present in only one square kilometer; this is the highest number for the whole of the country. Enterographa hutchinsiae and Microcalicium disseminatum are reported as new to the Netherlands, Calicium adspersum, Chaenotheca hispidula, Lecanora intumescens, and Scoliciosporum pruinosum, all of which were thought to be extinct, have been found again.
